Always when I try to encode a REMUX bluray .mkv which i have downloaded via torrent to avi via staxrip I get a iostream error, ALWAYS! Do you know why and do you know how to fix this problem? Thanks.

Also I would like to know what is the sense of x264 xvid Movies, are they better in quality or what?
whats a H264 Movie, I saw this option in some encoders.

can someone give me a guide how to rip a complete bluray to 720p bluray?

what is better, AAC audio or AC3, because many use now AAC.

Wouldn't be simpler to just start encoding with Videolobster ? It is very easy to use.

Handbrake uses FAAC which is not very good in terms of quality/size.
Videolobster uses Fraunhofer AAC encoder (Those guys invented MP3 if you didn't know So you don't have to worry about quality at all 64kbps for one channel is really enough. (128kbps for stereo and 320 kbps for 5.1)

Regarding video bit-rate. Take my advice. DO NOT USE 2-PASS mode unless you are aiming for specific size (CD / DVD)

USE CONSTANT QUALITY MODE instead !!! You will save time (only 1-pass!) and space. Encoder will automatically adjust bitrate according to video complexity and selected CRF value.

Good starting point is CRF@20

VERY IMPORTANT! LOWER VALUE means HIGHER QUALITY AND LARGER SIZE!
